Harry Potter AR Game; The rumors are true!
Niantic, the maker of Pokémon Go, augmented reality game will be launching another game on the similar lines for Harry Potter. The augmented reality game for Harry Potter will be named “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite” & will be launched in 2018 in cooperation with Warner Brothers Interactive and Portkey Games.
There are not much details available about the game as of now, so it’s not clear what the game will involve or what its mechanics will be, but we can expect some audio cues. Niantic said in September that the company was looking at using audio cues in future AR games, because holding up a phone for an extended period of time “makes them look like a total doofus,” according to Niantic CTO Phil Keslin.
Players will move through their physical world to collect power-ups and defend locations (presumably, similar to Pokémon Go’s gym system). It’s safe to say that people will show a lot of interest in this game (considering Harry Potter’s extremely large fanbase). For now, all we can do is wait for Niantic to share more information about the game.
